Alone in my head

No one can see the faces that haunt me;
they beam ear to ear like Cherubs,
their smile reeks of death.

Deep down my sin haunts me.
Oh, they giggle like little angels,
but their eyes rip you apart.
How do I tell them that I wasn’t prepared?

When I visit he will comfort me;
He’ll always tell me: You did the right thing!
It’s bedtime: leave all the lights on,
eerie fantasies seduce my dreams;
it happens every night

I turn the light off

Courage mustered and lost: turn it back on!
Sleep too far and too shy to come.
Do you hear them?
Even though you said we’re in this together;
I’m alone.
